July 2013 Update! See below.

Recent happenings...............

Well, this is not really "recent" but I finally got around to posting pictures of the brand new motorhome we got back in February of 2009 posted. If you scroll down you will see a link below the weather page link to "our new motorhome." We have been using it a lot. It has never been to the house and probably never will be, no reason. We have a year around spot at an RV Park outside of Quartzsite, AZ and we keep it there all winter. In the summers we keep it at our friends Pam and Kenny's in the central valley and use it to go to the mountains or the coast with them when they can break free (they are still working, poor things!!) You can see a piece of their 5th wheel in the right side of picture of the coach up at Big Meadows. We have been having a quieter than usual summer and John has been doing a lot of RC Helicopter flying and shooting and Jan has been doing a lot of work with her Bonsai's and Roses. I will have to make a Bonsai and Rose Page for her! She has won ribbons at the National Rose Show and also at the Alameda County Fair which pleased her and she has exhibited many of her Bonsais at local shows.

Soooo, welcome to our page and a small picture of our lives.......

Never be afraid to try something new..........
Remember that amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic.

This is a picture of current conditions at GoldDigger Ranch. It is updated hourly.

Here are some pictures taken February 11, 2001. We were snowed in for 3 days without phone or power. Not an uncommon occurance in many parts of the country, but pretty rare when you're only 50 miles from San Francisco, CA. For those who live where the snow piles up *really* high (and are scoffing at a mere couple of inches),"snowed in" here takes very little since the roads are steep and windy with large drops off to the sides and there isn't a snow plow for a hundred miles.

This is an Alpine Butterfly Knot (and several other names) and is really useful for putting a loop in the middle of a rope that is easily adjustable and easily untied. Thought you'd like to know......
